Human connection.
Three generations of Cuban tobacco heritage.
Handmade in Nicaragua. Connected through people.
A LEGACY WITH ROOTS
Some stories begin
long before a company.
Ours begins with the Mederos family: knowledge passed from hand to hand, a connection to the land, and relationships built over time. Growers, artisans, distributors and independent retailers sustain this living tradition together.
THE MEDEROS FAMILY01 / OUR HERITAGE
Cuban roots.
A Nicaraguan chapter.
The Mederos family’s cigar-making heritage spans three generations, with roots tracing back to 19th-century Cuba.
In 2006, the family began growing tobacco in Nicaragua and soon after opened their own handmade cigar factory in Estelí. That foundation developed into a portfolio of brands and a distribution business.
Today, Humidors Club International carries that family history into its next chapter.
Tobacco knowledge passed through three generations of the Mederos family.
Tobacco cultivation begins in Nicaragua, followed by a handmade cigar factory in Estelí.
A family business connecting manufacturing heritage with brands and distribution.
02 / THE CRAFT
Time is part
of the process.
From seed to finished cigar, the traditional process commonly spans two to five years. Explore the stages behind the work.

01Seeds, nurseries & fields+
Small seeds start in protected beds. After approximately 45–60 days, selected seedlings are transplanted into fields, where farmers tend the plants through their growing cycle.
02Harvesting & curing+
Leaves are harvested in stages from the bottom of the plant upward. In curing barns, moisture gradually leaves the leaf and its color changes from green to brown.
03Fermentation & aging+
Cured leaves are conditioned and stacked for fermentation. Tobacco then rests in storage, often for months or years, before it reaches the blending stage.
04Sorting & blending+
Leaves are sorted by characteristics including size, texture and color. Filler, binder and wrapper leaves are selected for their different roles in the construction.
05Rolling & resting+
A buncher arranges the filler and binder. A torcedor applies the outer wrapper and cap. The finished cigars rest while moisture levels equalize.
